Recycling Coordinator for Tinicum Township 1990 - 1992

Working with other mothers, I helped to start the Tinicum Recycling Program in the Spring of 1990, the 20th anniversary of Earth Day. We wanted to teach students about recycling, and stewardship of the environment. But the entire community benefited. I became the coordinator responsible for setting up once a month collection at the township building, which included organizing a team of volunteers to man the site, then getting the materials to the vendors. We continued this program for approximately 2 years until curbside collection became available to residents.
